Stylin'

The other night at dinner, my very stylised friends got onto the very important subject of jeans.

Now, to me there are not too many criteria that this staple wardrobe item has to pass.

They have to be cheap (think $50!), look ok and be very comfortable. So normally I can purchase from Target, tick all the boxes and be happy.

But apparently there is a fantastic pair of jeans that has all the fashionistas salivating at the lips. True Religion. The girls all chatted about these jeans and all the promises of lifted butt, but of course it comes with a fairly hefty price tag - anything from $400 up. Eeek, for a pair of jeans?? I just don't get it and asked them to explain what looked so good about this denim. Nicole told me that my good friend Yu-Yu wore them all the time, so I thought I'd try on a pair of hers to see what all the fuss was about when I saw her next.

Well, we went around to visit the Pengs this afternoon. I mentioned to Yu-Yu that a few of my friends were going nutso over a pair of jeans that she wears (thinking that she only had the one pair), when she took me to her wardrobe and into the DENIM department. OMG, she has a whole section dedicated to her favourite jeans. She had about 10 used pairs of these bloody expensive items and kept dragging out random bags with another 4 or 5 brand new pairs that she had bought.

I was curious, so tried on one of the pairs. My first thoughts were they were too tight, but after rearranging my butt, they actually didn't feel too bad. Happy with just trying and accepting that they are something I'd never buy, I changed back into my comfy Target jean shorts.

Next thing, Yu-Yu thrusts 2 brand new pairs at me and tells me to choose which ones I like the best. So now, I'm in the unusual predicament of choosing which $550 pair of jeans I prefer. Yes, they had the bloody tags still on, and that was the price!!!!

Anyway, after doing a fashion parade for the men, it was decided that these ones looked the best.

I wore them for the rest of the day and I am in love. They are so comfortable, so soft and give my butt the lift it needs.

So although I am not going to be rushing out buying up big on expensive jeans, I will love these ones for a long, long time. Also, it will be motivation not to put back on the weight I have lost so far. There is no room in them for anything extra.

Knowing me, I'll be wearing them for the next 20 years or so - lets hope they stay in fashion!

Wow that is one expensive pair of jeans but if it gives your butt a lift I'm going to get me a pair!!

Maybe I'll buy myself a pair when I get to my goal weight!
