Happy 2nd Birthday Xav

Happy 2nd Birthday my sweet little baby. It still feels like I blinked and you went from a snuggly little newborn baby in my arms to a loud, confidant and cheeky toddler. The last 2 years one the one hand have flown by so quickly, yet on the other hand so much has happened in your short little life.

So now you are a big 2 year old, and what a clever little boy you are!

You are such a cheeky little thing with such a wicked sense of humour. If we ask you to do something that you're not too keen on doing, you through your head back and let out a loud, rambunctious laugh. It's as if to say As if!

You are talking in longer sentences, and the fluency of your words is getting better every day. You try hard to learn every new word we teach you, copying it back almost perfectly and most of the time remembering the word and using it later in its proper context. We have fun and teach you complicated words like "harmonica" "hippopotamus" and "elephant", then we all giggle as you trip over the words trying to copy the pronunciation. Your manners are beautiful and most of the time you use "please" and "thank-you" without prompting. I love it when in your sweetest voice you ask, "More rice milk please Mummy" or Nice tea thanks Mummy" - Just adorable. I've lost count of how many words you say, there aren't too many things that we use or do that you wouldn't know the word for now. Some of your words only Daddy, Grace or I understand, but you are definitely getting easier to understand. Grace does sometime interpret for you, when we have no idea what you are trying to say!

Food is one of your greatest loves. There isn't much in the wide word of cuisine that you will reject. You love porridge or weet-bix for breakfast with rice milk and honey. You always insist on having some honey left on the spoon so that you can lick it.

You love playing with the kitchen and tea set, always asking us if we would like a "Cup of tea?" or "toast, sandwich or pizza?" I hear you in your kitchen crashing about, putting things in the oven and then loudly declaring "Ready now" before you bring them over for me to eat.

Out of all your toys, your matchbox cars are your absolute favourite. Just like your Daddy as a little boy, you always have a car close by. Whether that be in your hand, pocket (oh and how you love pockets!) or in your bed - there is always one or two within arms length! You zoom them around on any available surface, including up and down our legs and arms. You always need a car to take to the toilet, frantically looking for one before you dare tell us that you need to wee.

You love playing outside and would spend the majority of your time out there. Whether it is going to collect the eggs, feeding the chickens or playing out the back - any time outside you are happy with. You and Grace have a blast bouncing on the trampoline (reminder to post a pic of how it looks now), or baking up a storm in the sandpit.

You're a beautiful little boy with so much determination, which I'm sure will become even more apparent over the next few years!!

Thanks for all the beautiful moments and love that you have bought to our family Xav, every single one of them has been treasured.

Love Mummy xx
